Simplicity in business drives bigger impact

Can I paint you a picture?

You are so ready to make a big move but you feel like you have your feet stuck in deep mud.

You can feel what needs to happen next but you don’t know what to do first.

There’s so much swirling through your head it feels like it might pop and you are questioning if you are really cut out for this.

Well…

You aren’t stuck, you do know what to do first and you are absolutely cut out for this. But you do need some tools to deal with what has just happened.

You have had an energy surge.

Energy surges do strange things to us and it’s incredibly frustrating to be in limbo processing the energy when you want to be acting on it.

Energy surges happen when you learn lots of new information, when the collective energies have a big shift, when your energy system expands, when you tap into a new depth of purpose… there are so many ways you can be blindsided by growth.

Energetic tools are incredibly valuable in helping to build your capacity to process and hold the energies and I have lots of resources freely available depending on your particular challenge - check out Insight Timer and YouTube.

Here I want to focus on what you can DO to create some movement when you are feeling stuck. That’s going to make you feel better and think more positively.

The solution is to do less, but do it better.

There are umpteen gazillion platforms you may think you need to get visible on and a million tech tools to help you do it more efficiently. There are more sales techniques than you can shake a stick at – should you be running webinars, promoting lead generators, building complex conditional funnels that deeply segment your potential clients… It’s overwhelming.

Because it’s there and you think you should at least try it, you end up with an over-engineered business that’s hard to hold and get moving. Which doesn’t make you feel good and it certainly doesn’t create space to allow you to process an energy surge.

You do not need to be everywhere and you don’t need the latest trend. You need a simple, streamlined business that supports you to do what you do best.

I work on this with clients by clarifying intentions, outcomes and goals, stripping business back to the essentials, and focussing the energy for more impact. One tip I can share with you is to explore what sits right with you and what doesn’t.

There will be things you do or places you show up that have crept into your business via the side door but when you stop to inquire, you realise you don’t feel fully comfortable with them.

This was brought home to me recently when I was tagged for my perspective on an article about iffy marketing practices. It took me back to my year of reflecting deeply on marketing practices that create energetic dissonance in business.

It was a time when I made the space to truly understand my intuitive reactions to commonplace tactics and shape my own alternatives. That year completely transformed my business and how I felt about it, bolstering my confidence to walk my own path at the same time. Every year since, I have streamlined my business a little more so I can focus the energy to do less, better.

If you can carve out some time to listen to your intuitive nudges, you will discover aspects of your business that don’t feel right to you and why you feel that way. It will open up the door to finding your way. You may also root out snippets of opinion that echo in your mind when you start a project which impact how you feel and act. We all absorb the opinions of others, especially when they are delivered by a perceived expert. Really there is no bigger expert than you when it comes to your business and what’s right for you.

If you start the process and realise there is more than you thought beneath the surface, Soul Song is a perfect pathway to get your feet out of the mud. Drop me a quick message to get the ball rolling.
