This week I added a website footer to declare my business AI free.
I also shared my decision on social media to spark a little conversation.
I have really enjoyed what has come from it and have valued the very carefully considered responses across the spectrum.
From all the comments and occasional raised eyebrows, I felt it would be a good idea to spell out what I mean AI free.
I use all sorts of tools in my business, many of which have AI elements to them. AI is finding its way into every area of our lives at a rapid rate.
Ultimately none of us has much control over this.
But we all have control over one thing.
What we create.
When I say AI free, I cannot say AI is not part of how I function because it is even if I don’t know it. What I mean is that I am the creator of what I offer through my business. I write my own words, I draft all my programmes, workshops and energy work by hand – mostly with pen and paper – and I am the one delivering my work with my community and clients.
I get into the energy of what I am creating before I even begin to bring into a space where AI may also live and work.
I am committed to my business being human and tailored to the individuals who choose to step into my world.
I am committed to my business expressing my unique energy and creativity.
Does that mean I won’t ever make use of an AI powered transcription for a video, for example? No. Simply because it doesn’t take on the creative role in this situation. I want to ensure that my business is designed and built using my energy and creative expression and AI will only feature as a tool of functionality. It will never replace human connection in my business nor override my intuitive abilities to tailor what I do to the person in front of me.
AI is in the process of finding it’s role in society. We have a lot of big questions to answer – many of them already overdue for resolution and many more waiting in the wings.
Declaring my business AI free is my choice to set boundaries on how I will bring my business to my community and clients and uphold my core values in the process.
