The act of creating is transformative. It changes who you are.
As a different person, what you create takes on a different form even when you try to replicate what you have created before.
The materials you use are not the same either. No matter how hard you try, you cannot create the same thing twice.
If you could, you would be denying who you are.
You would be denying your power as a creator.
We can create. Uncreate. Re-create.
It is a fluid dance of joy and discovery, of learning what we can create and who we become in the creating.
This impermanence is the herald of growth. It comes from total presence in the moment and responding dynamically.
But…
Our sense of identity is wrapped up in what we have created. Our past creations are the stamps of our legacy and the marks on the landscape of our life journey.
And so, they travel with us. Each creation becomes more weight to carry and the burden of a sense of identity increases with every step.
Who are you without what you have “made of yourself”? Won’t letting go be tantamount to admitting life outwitted you? Isn’t it failure and betrayal of who you are to let go?
This, of course, will crumble under scrutiny. But it has to come under scrutiny first.
Meanwhile, in every step we take, we are becoming.
We change, we evolve, we expand into our true nature with each experience, each response and each creation that comes into being.
We could have so much more freedom if we accepted our power to create in its fullness that also embraces our power to uncreate. We are not bound to the past or to our creations from the past. We can do more than let go, we can uncreate it by reusing the raw materials to create anew.
We can become creators. We can lean into the future rather than be held by the past.
Crossing the threshold into new territory demands that you accept your ability to uncreate and appreciate the variety of the re-created.
Within your business, uncreating is not a betrayal of who you are or your success so far. Everything you have learnt and become will travel with you. It will find its place and relevance no matter how much you pivot your way through periods of transition.
When the energy is changing and you are becoming, stop forcing old models, old tools, old systems to work. They are out of step, out of time, out of place.
New energy needs new approaches. And it needs them without the baggage of the past. You need freedom to play and indulge your curiosity to find what works now.
Your success now was created then. Now you are creating your future success. You will need to view where you are now from the vantage point of the future, for only then will you see what you carry that is hampering your progress.
Lean into the energy that is pulling you forward and let yourself flow with what feels light and easy to hold. Give yourself permission to become the uncreator of the old and the creator of the new.
